From October 1st – 31st the award winning Saunders Farm is transformed into one of North America’s most exciting Halloween Festivals. Each year dozens of farmers visit from far and wide to learn about the spook-tacular Saunders Farm. This excitement is due in no small part to our amazing staff with their enthusiastic energy, genuine smiles, hard work and unparalleled dedication.

Brief Job Descriptions and Job Requirements
Haunted Attractions
The Haunted attractions Scare-crew is assigned to the Barn of Terror, the Haunted Hayride, or the Field of Screams. These ghouls use a variety of props, costumes and scare techniques to entertain and frighten guests.
Live Shows
The live shows scare-crew includes our Strolling Characters, Puppeteers and Make-up Artists. Strolling characters entertain the crowds during opening hours, there are different characters for both day and night. They also spend time with our birthday parties during their visit. Puppeteers work daytime only performing our fall puppet show and entertaining the crowds between shows while strolling with the puppets. Our make-up artists transform our actors into different Halloween characters from princesses to hideous beasts.
Operations
The Operations scare-crew includes Parking attendants, Custodial staff and Guest Relations staff. Our friendly energetic parking attendants greet and park cars in our parking lot. Our custodial staff ensures that the site looks pristine for the many visitors to Saunders Farm. Our guest relation staff includes greeters at the front gate, kids area supervisors and maze masters.
On-Site Sales
The on-site sales scare-crew includes the Admissions staff, Farm Shop staff and Ag Arcade staff. Our admissions staff works in our ticket booth greeting visitor and selling admission to the farm. Our Farm Shop staff work in the Green Queen’s Boo-tique and Pumpkin Emporium selling Halloween decorations, gifts and treats. Our Agricultural Arcade staff works the Apple Chuck’n where guests can sling shot apples into a pond for prizes and our corn cannon where guests can shoot cobs of corn out of an air cannon into one of our ponds for prizes.
Food Services
The food services scare-crew includes all of our food venues. This scare-crew is responsible for preparing and selling our many scrumptious Halloween food items.
Educational Tours
Our educational tour scare-crew work Tuesday through Friday 9am-3pm guiding pre-booked groups through the wonders of the harvest season. The children learn about how pumpkins grow, watch a puppet show and take a tour of the pumpkin patch on the wagon ride. Older grades learn about the history of the mazes and explore the pioneer village and a variety of mazes during their visit.
Birthday Party Host/Hostess
Our Halloween Birthday Party packages are offered Saturdays and Sundays for the month of October. Hosts/Hostesses are responsible for entertaining the birthday group for one hour of their visit which includes a meal and visit from one of our monsters.
Tractor Drivers
Our Haunted Hayride is a tractor driven ride through our forest. Tractor drivers are needed for our daytime and nighttime rides and are responsible for entertaining our guests on a safe yet scary ride through the haunted forest.
Job Requirements for all positions:
Must be at least 14 years of age*
Must be available to work weekends during the month of October**
Must be available to attend all required trainings
Must have own transportation to and from the farm (Saunders Farm is NOT on a bus route)
*Tractor Drivers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Ontario Drivers License.
*Strolling Characters must be at least 16 years of age.
**Educational Tour Guides must be available to work Tuesday to Friday during the day.
